Digital Photography Stream 2014
LOCATION LIGHTING & ENVIRONMENTAL PORTRAITURE
(limited to 30 participants)
This year's Photography Stream will focus on small flash photography that will help photographers improve the management of light on location -- any location actually. You will learn how to balance available light with artificial flight, use flash to make an ordinary location look extraordinary. We will explore off-camera flash techniques, the use of gels and high speed sync flash. We will see how flash can turn day into night, and night into day. This is an intensive 3-day workshop that will push you hard and take you further in your flash photography.
On the final day of the workshop, the class will go out in small groups to photograph an editorial session for an NGO. You will experience real world, real pressure and real satisfaction of a job well done.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Pre-requisite: ability to meter, expose and shoot in manual mode
Requirements: bring your DSLR, small flashes (as many / little as you have)
Optional requirement: light stands, gels (CTO, CTB, or any theatrical colours), softbox, snoots & grids for small flashes, umbrellas.
